I went out for lunch with a bunch of my college friends during our 2 hour lunch break last Friday. We couldn't decide where to go, so we went to one of our friend's friend's restaurant, Eld's 22 Pasta & Grill located at Gurney Paragon. The place was nice and cozy with great services. The waiters and waitresses were attending to all our needs. The price was reasonable for the food they are serving. I went with the Grilled Chicken with Creamy Mushroom Sauce. I ordered it in the 4 course lunch set which comes with a drink, soup of the day, main course and ice cream with homemade chocolate fudge at only RM 15.

Soup of the day

Fruit punch

Grilled Chicken with Creamy Mushroom Sauce

Creamy Mashed Potatoes

The main course!

There's always room for desserts! :)

Soup of the day: We didn't know what the soup of the day was. It tasted like vegetable soup with chicken stock as base. More towards the earthy feel, I think I tasted some celery and potatoes in it. But oh well, we forgot to ask.  At least the soup was good!

Drink: I can either go with the fruit punch or coffee. I went with the fruit punch and it was okay. The drink needed more ice to it, as it reaches the bottom, it got sweeter.

Grilled Chicken with Creamy Mushroom Sauce: The portion was enough for one person. The main course can be personalized with selected side dishes which are either Napolitan spaghetti, creamy mashed potatoes, Cajun seasoned french fries or steamed white rice. I went with the mashed potatoes as side. The grilled chicken was firmer than I thought,  so it took some time to cut it. The mushroom sauce was creamy and full of mushroom goodness. The mashed was so good. Not compared to mine of course. Hah. It was buttery and the gravy just made it better. The mash could have some lumps in it to make it look/taste more authentic. They should provide more gravy too. With the amount of mashed served, the gravy was definitely not enough. The small serving of salad at the side was okay, but would have preferred more vegetables to it.

Ice Cream with homemade Chocolate Fudge: The ice cream I ate that day was mango flavored. I actually liked it. You can actually taste the mangoes in it and it goes so well with the homemade chocolate fudge. Each bite you take, makes you go cloud nine. Would have liked to try other flavors too, like yam, the one my friend tried last time she paid a visit to Eld's.

In conclusion, it was money well spent on good food with good company. The place is located at:
163D-Level 5-16, 18 & 19,
Gurney Paragon Mall,
Persiaran Gurney, 10250 Penang.
It is opposite of Bentley Music and Times bookshop.
Opens every day from 10 in the morning till 10 at night.
