28th September 2015 marks the day my sister becomes 22! Yes, the Taylor Swift song really does pop in mind. Since I had classes till afternoon, we only got to spend her birthday having dinner at our usual seafood spot in Penang, Sea Pearl Lagoon cafe. The only thing we ordered was prawns and crabs. Thank goodness the prawns that day The prawns that day was big, fresh and juicy and adding the way they cooked it was a perfect combo. Crabs were okay for me, since I'm not a big fan of having to use a wooden mallet just to get the meat. Besides that I'm fine with it. After devouring our food, went for a stroll at the beach just right beside the restaurant. Spent most of our time taking photos of the view, digging sands and wandering around. There were people digging for clams too. Intense digging game! Haha. After that, I went home and did my normal, check all social network, routine.

Location: Tanjung Tokong, quite secluded and might miss it if not local. Even most local people don't know this place. Google it!
Price: Quite expensive compared to other restaurants. Depends on your luck if you get good catch that day.
Hygiene: Considered okay for an old place. Tables and chairs need some changing as most tables are rusting.
Service: Food order is slow. Nearly finished our drinks before the prawns arrived.

Cloudy day.

Beach was literally next to us.

Playing it old school.

Before: Big juicy prawns.

After: Shells of big juicy prawns! (Hah.)

People gathering as the sun was setting soon.

Man made rock trail.

Calm waves~

Boats and people.

White sandy beach is the best!

Hey yo! Sister's phone is in the way.
2015 marks the first year I spent Mid Autumn Festival away from home. This being the first made me miss the times when I spent most of my week before Mid Autumn Festival playing with candles and paper lanterns. Nevertheless, sis got me moon cakes and we ate to our hearts content. I'm usually not the type that eats moon cake since I don't really like the outer layer but this time the one we ate was different than the traditional ones. We had blueberry flavored and taro flavored ones. Only tried the blueberry moon cake and shall taste the other one later.

Blueberry moon cake with blueberry and Parmesan filling.

Another shot of it but with real blueberries inside.

CASAHANA Moonlight Waltz Moon Cake.

Taro and Sweet Potato flavored moon cake.

Moon cake box packaging is too pretty *^*

Even the bag looks pretty!
Despite not being able to spend Mid Autumn festival at home this year, I still feel satisfied and content about it. I was able to spend my morning in Ipoh before coming back to Penang and got moon cake from sis, whereby we enjoyed it in the living room. The day after that, which is today, is my sister's birthday, so we went and had dinner at our usual seafood spot in Penang. But a pot about that will be posted tomorrow.

Throwback to the time when I went to the newly opened Starbucks in Batu Ferringhi back in June when my brother came to Penang for his holiday. Since it was still newly opened, the place was bustling with people. Had to scan through the entire place to search for seats. Luckily we found seats outside despite the heat. If I remembered correctly, the weather that day was a little crazy. It was hot a minute ago and suddenly rain came pouring the next. This Starbucks was more spacious and well designed than the others so I was quite pleased about it. Since this outlet was directly next to the beach, we went and looked around. The beach was crowded with people as usual, but mostly families. Didn't stay too long at the beach though, like I said, it was freaking hot. Went back to our seats later and spent some time sipping on our drinks, taking Instagram photos etc. Would definitely like to try going there during the night some time soon.

Trying to conquer the scorching sun.

Seats under the transparent roof with fans.

View from my seat. Be very afraid of the dark clouds.

My usual drink every time at Starbucks.

Foot prints left on the sandy beach.

Yo brother, what's good?

Hey there, sun and beaches.

A headless turtle in progress. Soon washed away.

It was sunny all over again.

Rain drops against the roof.
Hopefully for my semester break in December, I would have a chance to go during the night. This time, I'll definitely get a different drink (fingers crossed, hah!). Totally recommended Starbucks outlet for people who enjoys beach walks and coffee along the way. If you're intending to go to the beach, please wear slippers. I've learnt my mistakes from my previous trip. Hah.
Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust and Fear.
*GASP*
GRRRR

A movie worth watching if you're a big fan of Pixar movies. The emotions I felt after watching Inside Out was too overwhelming. The movie was the talk out the month! Even in college, I can hear people talking about the movie, especially about one of the character, Bing Bong. Highly recommended!
Synopsis:
Inside Out is set in the mind of a young Minnesota girl, Riley Andersen, where five personified emotions—Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Disgust—try to lead her through life as she moves with her parents to a new city, San Francisco, after her father got a new job.

8.5/10

For this semester of college, I rarely get to return back to Ipoh, my hometown. However, I went back to Ipoh today for cousin's wedding dinner.
Woke up at 9 to shower and got ready to head out at 11. Since the bus stop is so near my apartment block, I didn't have to walk that much. I don't know if I'm lucky or what, I didn't have to wait for the bus since once I reached the bus stop, straight came the bus to jetty.
The ride to jetty took longer than expected? Reached the bus terminal 30 minutes later and had to walk all the way to the netty area which was quite tiring considering the fact that I had to carry a bag with Baker's Cottage mooncake (for Mom). But the weather was bearable so it was still okay. Waited for the ferry to arrive for 15 minutes and the ferry ride to Butterworth was 40 minutes long. I was in seasickness mode at that time (YIKES!). Thankfully did not vomit, was just a bit lightheaded which did not last that long.
Walked towards the bus terminal which was a long tedious walk. It was so far away and with all the lugagge and massive crowd, I wanted to just drop everything. Took me a while to reach the bus terminal and get my bus ticket. Had to wait till 1 for my bus. And the weather in Butterworth wasn't helping at all. The waiting area had limited fans and seats to accommodate the crowd.
When the bus arrived, first one to get on it and hurriedly rush towards my seat cause I thought someone will steal my window side seat and I would have to spend my time explaining to them that this window seat is mine according to my booking info. Luck was on my side again, no one sat beside and across my seat, SCORE! The journey along the way was kind of smooth except for the moment when we were at Kuala Kangsar and there was a sudden jam which delayed my travel time. But all was good when I touched down in Ipoh at 3.15PM, safe and sound.
Too bad that I have to go back tomorrow morning (Thanks, Monday college classes).  Can't wait to come back to Ipoh during my long semester break, but I doubt I'll do much. Probably just gonna laze around at home, something I can rarely do back in Penang.

Apartment block walk to the bus stop.

Neighborhood area on bus.

Primary and high school. The flags caught my attention. Hah.

Some Cantonese Association in Georgetown.

Walking towards the jetty terminal.

Finally on the ferry! Waiting for take off.

Reached Butterworth bus terminal. Hot weather  :(

Trees along the way.

Last toll before touch down in Ipoh bus terminal!

Two days ago, I had to take a Uber ride to college due to the massive rain! Taking two public bus rides was a big no no at that moment. So, I ordered my ride at 8 in the morning and it arrived 15 minutes later. It was considered fast with all the rain. flash flood and traffic jam. The driver, Roy, was kind enough to apologize for being late and 15 minutes later, I arrived at my college! So, yay!

Waiting for my Uber ride.

Finally in Uber!

My Uber driver for the day and destination! Thanks, Roy!
I've taken several Uber rides now and my experiences so far are good. Drivers were friendly and sociable if needed. The rides were clean and kept in a proper manner. Most of the rides I've been on had ratings of 4.5/5 and above. Since Uber Penang just started not long ago, I won't expect much. If there are other options like Uber X etc. in Penang, it would definitely be better. By the way, the rides are mostly cheaper than taxis!

For new Uber users who wants to get free rides worth RM20, use the promo code 3a6tmknnue! Check out Uber Malaysia page in FB for more info and news for promotion, events etc.
Throwback to early September this year when I went to Penang Esplanade for Transformers Street Art. Definitely a worthwhile experience for people who enjoy street art and art itself. There were a lot of street vendors selling toys which most of them will emit light (Probably in conjunction with the light performance) The container artworks were done by The One Academy Penang students! There were light performance on the mainstage with Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. Was awe struck by the light performance. Isn't it amazing how we can manipulate lights in so many ways? Hoping for more art performance in Penang in the near future.

Night view of Penang Esplanade.

Light performance again!

The light performance lasted for 15 minutes or so. People started gathering after the first 5 minutes so most of the photos taken were filled with people blocking the view (bummer!).
